Movement Generation is a limited edition series of generated dance choreography videos by the MVMT Squad. Each artwork is a unique, generative NFT art piece, whose attributes are determined by an on-chain seed hash stored as the NFT's metadata on the Ethereum blockchain. This means each NFT video is randomly generated at mint time. Some tokens contain combinations of dance moves, scenes and colors that occur less frequently than others.
The NFT is minted on the Ethereum blockchain, and this is whether the ownership record and NFT seed hash are stored. All the video & audio artifact from which the NFT's are generated, as well as the NFT videos themselves will be stored permanently on the Arweave blockchain. Each Movement Generation piece links directly to its location on the Arweave blockchain via on-chain metadata and the "View on Arweave" link next to the art piece viewer on the website. As a convenience, all NFT metadata is also available over HTTP.
The video generator will be open sourced once the sale is complete. Using the video generator CLI tool, anyone can deterministically re-generate their NFT video by supplying the program with their NFT's on-chain seed hash. Therefore, even if this website were to disappear tomorrow, you would have everything you need to continue to self-custody and own your NFT.
